How the work actually goes.
Every client is different, but the framework is consistent: stabilize first, build capacity, then do the deeper work — with measurable progress along the way.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
The research-backed treatment that interrupts the compulsion loop. We don't argue with the thought. We teach your nervous system that the feared outcome is either unlikely or survivable — through structured, graded exposure.
Inference-based CBT (ICBT)
For OCD themes where the content is the problem — intrusive thoughts about harm, identity, or morality. We address the reasoning errors that give those thoughts their grip.
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
Values-based work that makes exposure make sense. You're not doing hard things for their own sake. You're doing them to live the life the OCD has been stealing.
You might recognize
yourself here.
If several of these land — even uncomfortably — this is probably the right page for you to be on.
- 01You spend hours in rituals you know don't make sense
- 02Intrusive thoughts make you question your character
- 03You've been told "everyone worries" — but this isn't worry, it's hostage-taking
- 04You reassurance-seek from partners, Google, or yourself
- 05You've tried general anxiety therapy and it made the OCD worse
"ERP is uncomfortable on purpose. Done right, it's also the thing that gives you your life back. I'll sit with you in the hardest parts — and I'll be honest when you're negotiating with yourself."
Arc of the work.
Orientation
History, current presentation, goals. We agree on what "better" means and how we'll know we got there.
Stabilization & skills
Nervous system regulation, distress tolerance, and the foundational tools you'll use in the harder work.
Active processing
EMDR, ERP, or the protocol best matched to what you're carrying. Measurable, structured, and paced to your capacity.
Integration & maintenance
Taking what we've built and reinforcing it in the rest of your life. Spacing sessions out as you gain ground.
